As a certified engineer, my analytical curiosity drives me to study the "why" and "how" of nature—seeing it as an extraordinary engineer of texture, light, and form, as much as a prodigious source of beauty and wisdom.
While I have drawn and painted with various media over the years, reconnecting with soft pastels felt like coming home to a childhood love. Soft pastels are a deeply sensorial medium—working directly with the pigments allows for an intimate connection with every subject, superimposing layer after layer until life suddenly emerges on the canvas. Driven by the infinite secrets and beauty of the wild, I’ve embarked on this new chapter of my life. I am Wild At Art.”
The Medium: The Magic
& Sensuality of Soft Pastels
Pure Pigments & Tactile Connection
Soft pastels are a deeply tactile, sensorial medium that bridge the gap between drawing and painting. Because they consist almost entirely of pure pigments, they allow direct hands-on manipulation of raw pigment layers without wet brushes or color dilution.
Bringing Wildlife to Life
By superimposing dynamic layer upon layer, I am able to capture the rich textures of fur, feather, and hide, as well as the subtle play of natural light. Soft pastels allow me to build depth and realism, until the subject suddenly steps out from the surface and vibrant life pops right off the paper.
